Meet Millie
I provide thoughtful, experienced care for dogs, cats and animals of all kinds — built on understanding the individual and earning genuine trust.
I grew up in a busy home surrounded by dogs, and animals have been a constant part of my life ever since. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments, as well as cats, horses, farm animals and plenty of personalities in between.
While dogs are a huge part of what I do, I’ve never thought of Paws Patrol as being “just” a dog walking business.
I particularly love working with energetic working breeds, dogs who need a little more understanding, and animals with their own quirks, routines and ways of communicating. Getting to know the individual animal — rather than expecting them to fit into a one-size-fits-all approach — is a huge part of the way I work.
An animal’s life is only as big as we help them make it.
That might mean giving a dog the chance to properly explore on a walk, creating enrichment and variety in their week, taking the time to earn the trust of a nervous animal, or simply noticing the small things that tell me when something isn’t quite right.
I want the animals in my care to have more than their basic needs met. I want them to feel safe, understood, stimulated and genuinely happy.
The relationship I build with owners matters just as much. Leaving your pet in somebody else’s hands requires an enormous amount of trust, so I believe in being open, dependable and communicative. You should know who is caring for your animal, what they’ve been doing and how they are getting on.
Paws Patrol Wickford has grown through the relationships I’ve built with local owners and their animals, and I never take that trust for granted.
Whether I’m heading out for a walk, dropping in on a cat, caring for animals while their owners are away or helping with something a little more unusual, the standard remains the same: thoughtful, knowledgeable care centred around the individual animal.
Because to me, great pet care isn’t simply about being there. It’s about making their world a little bigger while you are.

With a calm, approachable nature and a hands on approach to pet care, David quickly earns the trust of both animals and their owners.
Working alongside Millie, Paws Patrol Wickford is truly a family run business, built on shared values of kindness, reliability, and treating every animal as if they were our own.
